LONDON, Dec. 5. Mrs Elsie Forrest, the wife of the Maharajah of Tigari, appears in musicomedy in "The Little Red Girl" at the Gaiety Theatre on Saturday. SYDNEY, Dec. 5. Three Broken Hill mines, the North, South and British, will resume operations after an extended idleness. They will find work for several hundreds. Buyers for the Japanese Government purchased a number of highpriced stud Corrledales, making the third consignment bought on Government account. The Overseas Shipping Association announces a reduction in freights for the United Kingdom and the Continent, averaging 10 per cent. In some cases the reduction exceeds 10 per cent. MELBOURNE, Dec. 6. The Ministry is inviting applications for two technical instructors at from £ioo to £SOO to teach trades to the natives of New Guinea, particularly the rudiments of motor engineering and carpentering.
