RECREATION GROUND
MEETING AT MORRtNSVILLE. A meeting was held in Morrinsvillc last evening to consider a proposal to sell the present recreation reserve of 2 0 acres, and the purchase of another six acres. The Mayor (Mr Marshall) presided, and there was an attendance of about 200. After the proposal had been explained, ah animated discussion ensued, the following motion being carried by 103 to 2:—“That this meeting is strongly against the proposal to sell the present recreation ground.” In respect to the purchase of Mr Milliken’s properly on a motion, “That this meeting is in favour of acquiring the said six acres as a children’s playground, but nut as a sports ground” a show of hands resulted: For, 32; show of bands resulted: For, 32; against. 32.
