A mechanic named Hightower has teen sentenced to life imprisonment for the murder of Father Heslin, a Roman Catholic priest. v A cablegram dated August 11 staled that Father Heslin was kidnapped by bandits in California and held for ransom. His body was found buried in i sand on Salada Beach. The police were taken there by Hightower, who stated that he had met a drunken man. thai j tile latter informed him he had killed j a man, and indicated where the body hrLd been buried. Hightower went ! with the police, to the beach and after digging in the sand recovered the body of Father Heslin. Hightower was held by the police pending investigation of the crime, and according to to-day's cablegram he has been convicted of the murder.
