ARBITRATION COURT
MR McCULLOUGH'S POSITION. NO INTENTION TO SIT. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, Saturday. Mr J. A. McCullough has issued a circular letter to the unions defining his position. As regards his seat on the Arbitration Bench, the letter states he has not gone back on his determination not to sit again with the present members of the Court. He proposes to nelain the position, if possible, until the Christmas vacation or such earlier date as may be arranged. This would enable the deputy member to sit, and the Court lo function and allow a candidate lo be recommended for election during the vacation. He considers it neith.cr honourable nor desirable for him to retain the position for any longer period than would enable the trade unions to nominate a successor with whatever unanimity may be possible.
