THE WEATHER.
- ' The following barometer and thermometer readings, taken from 9 a.m. daily, and weather conditions, arc kindly supplied 'by Mr James Bremner:— Thermometer. Saturday 68 41 Saturday 29.70 Barometer. Monday 29.55 Saturday and Sunday were unsettled, with heavy rain showers, followed by high westerly winds. The barometer has fallen since Saturday, and now registers 29.55. During the past 14 days the reading has been below normal, this morning being the lowest during that period. Cyclonic conditions cover the Dominion, but improved weather conditions may be expected .to follow soon with a rising barometer. Present indications are that stormy conditions will continue during the next 36 hours, with high westerly winds and occasional heavy showers.' The Weather Bureau wires: The indications are for westerly winds, strong to gale and backing by west to south. The weather appears likely to be cloudy and unsettled. Heavy rain is expected. Barometer unsteady.
