BISHOP AVERILL'S ORDERS, : REUNION OP CHRISTENDOM. . CHRIST AND THE "ISMS." {By Telegraph.—Press Association.) AUCKLAND. Friday. Bishop Averill, in his letter at the renins of' the Diocesan Synod, rcferng to the Lambeth conference appeal >r reunion of Christendom, urged the fergy and laity to seize every opporinity of discussing with any other hristian creed sympathetically and rayerfnlly the question of reunion in Accordance with the Lambeth appeal. [e also urged (he clergy to study the eport of the conference on the quesion of Christian faith in relation to piritualism, Christian science and theoiophy, particularly Christian science. s T o man could serve two masters, and he Christ of these "isms" was not the Christ of the Bible or the ■ Christian '■reed. With regard to Ihe general •irinciple of women instructing and exporting congregations, the Bishop said le was not yet convinced of its genera! ' advisability or expediency, but he had no objection whatever to women, with the approval of the Bishop, speaking in consecrated buildings at other than the regular services.
