UNEMPLOYMENT PROBLEM

A NATIONAL QUESTION. ORGANISATION OF INDUSTRY. BRITISH LEAD RECOMMENDED. (Australian and N.Z. Cable Assn.) DUNEDIN, Friday. The Otago Trades Council, while wishing to ask the unions to donate to relief works, expresses Ihe opinion that the question of unemployment is a national one, and urges Hip Government to take immediate steps to deal with it by organising industry in such a way as to provide reproductive works for all workers- Failing which the Government should levy taxation on similar lines to that in England for the purpose of providing sustenance for persons unable to obtain employment.
