UNUSUAL ACCIDENT

—,> HORSE BREAKS ITS NECK. RIDER BADLY SHAKEN. A somewhat unusual arid nasty accident occurred at Hamilton yesterday afternoon. A young man named Alex. Mitchell, aged 20, of To Kowhai, had ridden in to a parade of the Mounted Rifle's, and was galloping along one of the roads, when his horse stumbled and broke its neck, pitching and rolling over the rider. Young Mitchell was taken to the hospital, where he is at present under treatment, (hough liis injuries ure'not regarded as serious, although he is badly shaken.
