AN UNEXPECTED SEQUEL f , WORKERS' DEMANDS. COMPENSATION FOR LOST TIME. (Australian and N.Z. Cable Assn.) Received October 2, 5.5 p.m. BERLIN, September 30. Polish and German workmen, waiving their differences, have united in a joint demand for compensation for loss of work incurred through the GermanPolish fighting last May, threatening a Kcnoral slrike unless the inter-Allied Commission or the employers surrender. Demonstrations took place at Oppeln. Kattowitz and Beuthen, in which a quarter of a million workers of both races took part in a procession. The Inter-Allied Commission are sympathetic, but declare that they have no funds, while the employers say they have suffered such losses through the insurrection that it is impossible to grant compensation.
