MR SPEAR'S BUILDING
<• TERMS COMPLIED WITH. LETTER TO THE COUNCIL. >. Mr Spear's acceptance of the Council's conditions respecting his unsanctioned moving hack of his building in Alexandra street was received by the Te Awamutu Borough Council on Monday in the following letter from Mr Spear:—"With further reference to my letter to the Mayor of the 3rd inst., relative to the removal of my building in Alexandra street, I am now prepared to admit that I committed a breach of the borough by-laws in so .doing, and regret my error of judgment in the matter. I undertake, however, within the spaoe of .nine months, from the 15th inst., to remove the said building, and in the meantime to indemnify the Counol against any legal action or proceeding commenced by any person as the result or in respect of the building being removed to its present position. I further agree to pay all legal expenses the Council has been put to in connection with the matter." The brief comment of the Council's solicitor, Mr Swarbrick, was to this effect:—"We have received the enclosed letter from Mr Spear, which seems corrctly to embody the Council's resolution, save that no mention is made of where the building is to be removed to at the expiration of the nine months." Mr Spear's letter was accepted.
