A NOTABLE IMPROVEMENT
TO MILKING MACHINES. Mr F. W. B. Greville, the well-known dairy expert and editor of New Zealand's dairy journal, "The N.Z. Dairy-n-an," reviews in this month's issue, a remarkable new device which has just been invented. The article referred to reads as follows:—"Perhaps the most notable improvement made in milking machines during Ihe last few years is that recently made for preventing the teat cups from falling off. II is one of Ihe main talking points of milking machine salesmen that the cups of their particular machine never fall off, but the dairy farmer who has to use them twice a day knows that they all fall off, especially in the autumn. To overcome this difficulty a clever farmer, with a turn for mechanics, has patented a contrivance which lie has aptly called the "Kannotfall." In putting this useful adjunct to the milking machine on the market, the inventor had apparently three Ihings in mind, which he fell were necessary to ensure success—lightness, neatness and adaptability, and a glance at the diagram issued with the appliance shows that all these three requisites have been attained. No dairy farmer who uses machines requires anyone to tell him what a nuisance ami loss of time it, is to have the cups fall off, to say nothing of the insanitary condilions that follow in the train of such accidents, and therefore this new trouble and time saver will at once appeal to thern. Last, but nol least, this new aid to the dairy farmer can be supplied through the post for 555, and we can, with confidence, recommend every reader to send for one, so that he may try it out in his own shed. The "Kannotfall" may be procured from the, Wairarapa Farmers' Co-op. Assn., Ltd. (Stock Department), Masterton."
