SILESIAN SITUATION
POLISH BANDS MOVING CLASH AT RATIBOR, BRITISH SUSTAIN CASUALTIES. (Australian and N.Z. Cable Assn.) Received August 12, 1.5 a.m. BERLIN. August 10. A message from Breslau reports that Polish hands crossed the frontier near Rosenberg, 55 miles northward of Ratibor. They were driven back after a fight with the Polish and British troops, in which the latter suffered casualties. A PROBABLE COMPROMISE. (Australian and N.Z. able Assn.) Received August 12, 8:45 p.m. PARIS, August 11. It is reported that the Silesian boundary experts have practically reached an agreement. They propose a frontier following generally the line suggested by Signor Sporza, but giving Zaborze to Germany and Beuthen to Poland; whereas France is trying to secure Zaborze for Poland and Great Britain wants Germany to have Beuthen.
