Also started: Te Oro, Staff Officer, Master Boris, Wild Pilgrim, Mickey Free, Pariform, Indus, Mettle Drift. Won by two lengths. Time, 3.19. August Handicap.—Mustard Pot 1. Fabrinade 2, Weldone 3. Also started: Onslaught, Killowen, Will Oaklancr, Macduff, Callaghan, Some Kid, Corn Rigs, Thistlecrown, Madame Chiron. Won by two lengths. Time, 1.14. Islington Handicap.—Pine Arch 1, Royal Star 2, Bonnie Maid 3. Also started: Vagabond, Heather Sprig, Dainty Step, Miss Muriel, Kareao, Moutoa Ivanova, Mazama, Jock, Hiero, Counter Attack, Nautical, High Heels. Pine Arch won by four lengths, a neck separating second and third. Time, 2.12. SOUTHERN PROGRAMMES. MARTON AND RANGITIKEI. The programmes for tho spring meetings of the Marton Jockey Club (September 7), and the Rangitieki Hunt, (September 10) are advertised in this issue. Both meetings are to be held on the course at Marton, and as the programmes are attractive they command the attention of owners in this district. , Nominations close on Tuesday, August 16, at 9 p.m. Full particulars can be obtained from Mr A.
