DAVIS CUP CONTESTS. AUSTRALIA v. ENGLAND. CONFIDENCE OF THE COLONIALS. (Australian and N.Z. Cable Assn.) Received August 3, 5.5 p.m. OTTAWA, August 2. At Pittsburg both the British and Australian tennis teams are practising on tho Allegheny County Club courts, on which the Davis Cup mulches will be played.. The Australians are now acclimatised, and express confidence that they will give ii bettor showing Hum they did in Canada.
According to the present plans, Anderson and Todd will play in the doubles, Anderson and llavvkes engaging in the first day's singles. Woosnam and Turnbull are likely to play in the British doubles and Lowe and Woosnam in I lie singles.
