The inculcation of patriotism or loyalty to Kuwr aDd Country and laity ideate readily finds a; basis in British history. In this connection lessons of a celeb rational character are of rtw utmost importance. Anniversaries such as Anzac Day aniri Empire Day should devoted to special lessons appropriate to the theme. In addition, at every celebration and at the beginning or the end' of each school week the New Zealand flDg or the Union Jack is to be saluted arid the National Anthem sung by the teachers and pupils, in the presence, wViere possible, of the whole school. A record of these cebemonles is to be entered in the teachers’ work book under’ the heading "Civics," and examined by Jhe inspector.
