Vienna advices state that his illness lias taken a severe turn and that Karl is unable to travel. NEW YORK, April 4. The New York Times’ Budapest correspondent interviewed Admiral Horthy, who assured the correspondent, that the Karl episode was definitely ended. PARIS, April 5. A message from Budapest announces that the cx-Empcror Karl will return to Switzerland forthwith. A REPUBLIC IMPOSSIBLE. UNSUITABLE FOR HUNGARIANS. THE REGENT INTERVIEWED. (Australian and N.Z. In an interview with the Budapest correspondent of the New York Times, Admiral Horthy said: “It must be remembered that a Republican Hungary is Impossible. The Hungarian mind lias become habituated to a monarchy, which soils our people bettor. We could never go through an election every four years without agitation and excitement, resulting in great harm. It docs not matter much which head bears the Crown, but the people would be less liable to the influence of demagogues under a monarchy. They would be steadier and work best under that system. We wid solve our problems in due time, and prosper under an ordered v it liberal monarchy.” BRITAIN JOINS THE ALLIES. IN REQUEST FOR EXPULSION. (Australian and N.Z. Cable Assn.) Received April 5, 5.5 p.m. LONDON, April 4. Major P. L. Grearne, Director ot Overseas Trade Department, in’reply to a question in the House of Commons, stated,Britain joined in requesting Austria to grant Karl safe conduct out of Hungary.
