METHODIST CHURCH
SUNDAY SCHOOL ANNIVERSARY.
The anniversary services in connection with St. Paul’s Methodist Church, Hamilton, were continued last night, and passed off very successfully. About 450 children and adults sat down to a sumptuous tea, and did full justice to the good things provided. A successful concert was afterwards held in the church, which was crowdel. Mr Jas. Treloar, superintendent of the Sunday School, presided. Enjoyable items were given as follows: Solos by Misses Thelma Norman, Euth Scott, Miriam Tidd, and Master Bradding; duets by Vi and Beg Hooper, and Evelyn and Alsace James; reeitath ns by Miss Nita Scott and Master Clem Bradley; violin solo by Master James. Choruses were also sung by the children, under the baton of Mr T. S. Webster, and with Mr C. Beak at the organ. The annual report was presented by the secretary, Mr W. Wood, and shower the school to be in a very satisfactory position. The attendance was increasing every weey, and had now reached 180.
The chairman paid a warm tribute to the faithful work of the teachers, who. he said, did not look upon their work ar a sacrillce, but as a ,joy, and attended regularly. The building was becoming too small owing to the frequent additions to the scholars' roll. The prizes and diplomas awarded, during the year were presented by Rev. E 0. Blamircs.
Votes of thanks were accorded nil who had helped in the anniversary services and in the work of the school.
The church trustees are considering the immediate erection of a special kindergarten department to facilitate the work. Already donations of £2OO have been received for this building.
