WEST COAST OUTRAGE
SCANLON DISMISSED. CHRISTCHURCH, Wednesday. At the Magistrate's Court, a charge against John Scanlon of having placed an explosive substance near the Police Station at Arthur's Pass, with intent to damage it, was dismissed, the Magistrate deciding that there was no prime facie case. The explosion occurred r>n December 8 last, the back walls of the building being blown to pieces and the floor lifted up.
