Mortgages Extension. A Bill, amending the Mortgages Extension Act was introduced in the Legislative Council to-day. It extends from June 30 next to December 111 next the general protection accorded to mortgages under the existing moratorium law. It makes December 31, 1922, the latest date to which a judge of the Supreme Court may extend the term of any mortgage in connection with which application is made to the Court. Purging the Estimates. The Minister for Public Works told the House that votes that have been on the Estimates for several years, and have not been lifted, are being struck of in ordef to clear the Estimates. These grants could be applied for again if they were required, or they cduld be left upon the Estimates if local bodies made application.
