Wairarapa sixteen, commenced to-day in fine weather, and with a good wicket. Wairarapa batted first and made a deplorable showing, making 81, Moore carrying his bat for 22. Australia opened well, reaching the ceplury in 55 minutes and the second century in an hour. A rot then set in, and Hie last five wickets fell for 60 runs, tlie innings yielding 295. The chief scorers were: Eiddicutt (’> I, Kippax 55, Bogle -'ili, and Lampard 30.
