THAMES TOURNAMENT. (By Telegraph.—Special to Times.> THAMES, Monday. The Boxing Association held a tournament on Saturday evening, before a good house. In the. amateur contests, J. Whittome Parncll) beat 11. Brien (Auckland) on points in the feather-weight. in the light-weight division. J. Walker (Waihi) beat T. O'Carroli (Kopuarahi) in the fourth round. M. May (Auckland; beat L. Greig .Auckland,', the. latter having given up at the end of the first round, owing to a cut above the eye. N. Vcrnall Hamilton) and G. Brown 'Auckland) boxed over six rounds to a draw, and provided Ihe most scientific bout of the evening. The professional feather-weight contest between Berl Faenory (Auckland: and Kid Harris (England) went the full distance of 15 rounds in a very ordinary display. Facoory got the decision on points. Illegal tactics by both men caused the referee. Mr Sampson, to issue severe censure to both in tiie bout at, an early stage.
