In an application for a new award for the dairy employees, the question of child labour was raised. II was staled lhat it was common to see young boys and girls delivering milk in the early hours of the morning. It was stated lhal. nothing could be done to slop it Ldl a clause was inserted in Hie award preventing young children from being employed. The Unurl was asked to drafl a clause to Rial effect, restraining both employers and employees. • The employers' representative said he had no objection, Judge Fraser said the suggestion had the entire sympathy of the Court, and it could be safely left to Ilmm lo drafl a clause to block the employment of child labour as far as possible.
