Three thousand Cossacks from Kazvln, witli two batteries of guns, Hizar Khan Sardar commanding, caplured Teheran at midnight on the 20th without serious resistance. The Cossacks wore met at Mehrahad, near Teheran, by Persian and British ofllcials. Riza Khan announced his intention of establishing a military Government, willi a view to defending the Persians against the Bolsheviks after the withdrawal of British troops. There were a few casualties in the street fighting. The Cossacks are policing the streets, and guarding the foreign lega_ tions. The town Is> quiet, and bazaars are, closed.
