Maiden Fours —Wellington I, Pieton | 2, Poverty Bay 3. Also started:! Blenheim and Wairau. Won by two ! lengths. Time 5.49 2-5. Junior Pairs. —Wairau 1, Poverty Bay 2, West End No. I 3. Also started; Pieton, Star, Wanganui. in an exciting finish Hie placed crows wore bunched. Time, 6.55 4-5. The north-east breeze increased before Hie Champion Fours were due. After sheltering awhile under Hie lee of Mabel Island Hie crows returned lo j Hip sheds, and the race was postponed I till later.
