Delightful weather and a perfect wicket marked the third day of the cricket match, England v. Victoria, but (lie attendance was again small. ARMSTRONG ABSOLVED. NO CONFIDENCE IN SELECTORS (United Press Association.) MELBOURNE. February 8. The Cricket Association passed a resolution absolving Armstrong from not, playing in the Sheffield match, also expressing no-confidence in the selectors for their action in dropping Armstrong in the match against England. Received February S, J 1.50 a.m. MELBOURNE, February 8. A meeting of the Cricket Association had before it a complaint by the manager of the Victorian team that when the team was in Sydney to play the Sheffield match Armstrong failed to inform him that he could not attend practice, and told him only five minules before the match that lie was unable to play. Armstrong, who was supported by other members of the team, including Dr. Park, explained that he went to the ground, ami told Dr. Park that he was not fit lo play. Dr. Park and Mayne agreed, and he therefore stood out. Armstrong's action in Sydney was the cause of his exclusion from the Victorian team. After a lengthy meeting the Association adopted the resolution as given above.
