Mr J. Lyons, M.R.G.V.S., chief veterinary supervisor for the Auckland province, is in this district at present. Mr J. P. Kalaugher, Supervisor of the. Manual and Technical branch, under 11 e Auckland Education Board, was in iumilton this morning. Mr Frank Campbell, prior to leaving Walhi for Matamata, was farewellcd at a pleasant social, and presented with a handsome silver teapot, suitably inscribed. Mr G. A. Empson, Chief Postmaster at Thames, lias decided to retire from the service, and lias asked to be relieved of his duties on .March JJlst next. Mr Empson has been a member of Lhe Civil Service for \~t years, and for 13 years has been in charge of a post office or a postal district, it is his intention to take up his residence in the Waikato. The Lyttelton Times reports that Mr E. E. Stark, a few years ago city electrical engineer in Dunedin, and after that in Christchurch, and who reported on the auxiliary plant for Hamilton, writing tu a friend in Ghristehiirch from Elyria, Ohio, United States, says that he is in business there, and may visit New Zealand before long.
