IMPROVEMENTS SUGGESTED. At a meeting: of the Waikato subprovinei.il executive of the Fanners' Union at Hamilton yesferday, the folk.wing remit was received from the Xewstead braneh in reference to stock That hull sales and dairy cow sales start at 10.30 a.m.; that J-hour be allowed for lunch; that dairy heifers be sold in lots of two or more; that in the even I of a prospective purchaser asking for the pick of one to lie offered, same to ho allowed should vendor agree: should any lot fail to reach reserve, if the vendor wishes to offer for sale any particular one unreserved, same to he allowed; sale of dairy cows and heifers to commence at 1 o’clock i n Thursday Hamilton sale. Mr McKay, in submitting Ihe remit, remarked that the auctioneering companies did not care about suggestions from outside bodies, as they liked to take the initialive themselves. The. sales at Ibis lime of Ihe year finished 100 late. II would be much bolter to shirt them earlier, as both farmers and stock could attend earlier. He would like the remit to he circulated amongst branches for discussion. There was little need for him to enlarge up m the subject, as he fell that farmers generally would agree with (.lie remit. The executive approved of the renut and decided lo circulate it amongst branches.
