It is interesting to note that the Hamilton Borough Council are following the lead of other urban bodies in purchasing one of the Thornicroft motor trucks constructed by the wellknown English firm of that name. The chief feature of this up-to-date vehicle is its powerful engine of 40R.A.C. rating, and the steel body lilted is capable of carrying a load of four tons, and is lifted by the very efficient hydraulic tip, while tbs tail-board, designed by the local engineer, Mr Stevens, is specially adapted for the quick and even spreading of road rnetul, etc. We feel sure that in employing up-to-date haulage vehicles our Council is only once again showing their determination to bring Hamilton to the front line of importance among New Zealand towns, and by investing in really good Englishbuilt machines, such as the Thornycroft Co.’s trucks, the Council are following a line of sound judgment which can.ll h-1 fail to yield the success for which they aim.
