WINTER SHOW ASSOCIATION
MEETING OF COMMITTEE. A meeting of the Committee of the Waikato Winter Show Association, was held at Hamilton yesterday. Mr E. Tidd (president) presided. The auditors (Messrs Sanson and O’Meara), in reporting on the balance sheet, congratulated the Association upon the satisfactory position disclosed, and the secretary upon his work. They mentioned that the outstanding subscriptions amounted to £317, and it was hoped that these would b epaid us soon as possible. Mr F. R. Callaghan forwarded details of the proposed school root crop trials (already published in the Waikato Times).* —Members considered that Hie scheme was worthy of the Association’s support; it was a move in the right direction. The action of the secretary in embodying the competition in the schedule was approved. Mr Mlssen was appointed to take charge of this section at the show. The balance sheet (already published) was discussed, and was considered very satisfactory. The secretary's action in taking out a fire insurance policy of £2OOO on the whole of the buildings was confirmed. The annual meeting will be held on Thursday next.
