HAMILTON STOCK SALE. The Farmers’ Co-operative Auctioneering Co., Ltd., report:—At Hamilton yesterday we had a moderate yarding of cattle and sheep. Cattle generally were easier, notwithstanding the improved weather conditions, and many pens were passed in. Beef sold fairly well, prime cows making up to £JG 10s, light-weights £ll 10s to £l4. Fresh-conditioned cows made up to £8 7s 6cl for medium frames, and up to £lO 3s for the best. Very few twoyear cattle were yarded, and most ot the yearlings failed to reach owners’ reserves. Yearling steers made up to £4 3s, heifers £4 15s. The sheep section showed a decline and many pens of fat and forward sheep were An even draft of 450 store hoggets (one ear mark) realised 27s 4d. Pigs were in fair supply, and sold at fully equal to last week's rates. Baconcrs £3 10s to £7 12s, porkers Cl 13s to £3 3s, slips £2 13s lo £3 12s (sd, weaners 2Ss to £2_l7s. Fresli dropped calves 3s to 12s.'* Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report having held their weekly stock sale at Hamilton, yesterday. There was a fair yarding of all classes of stock. The demand for sheep was moderate, although a good clearance was effected. We sold shorn wethers*' at 265, and shorn ewes at 235; ewes and lambs yarded were passed af-.305. Wo yarded a good number of cattle, \mstly two-year-old and yearlings. The demand for good quality two-year-old Shorthorn cross heifers was good, and we sold all yarded with the exception of one pen. Yearlings sold under fair competition at from £4 to £4 17s for best quality; inferior, £2 2s 6d to £3; store cows, £5 to £7 3s for light sorts. Yearling viadc Friesian bull, 5i guineas. Pigs were yarded in average numbers, and all prime bacon and pork pigs sold at slightly improved rates.
