THE BASIC WAGE
INCREASE IN NEW SOUTH WALES. BY EIGHT SHILLINGS A WEEK. FOR ALL EARNING UNDER £525. (United Press Association.) Received October 8, 10.35 a.m. SYDNEY, October 8. The Board .if Trade is making a declaration to-day increasing the hasio wage by Bs, the new amount being £4 ss. This will apply to all employees under the Slate awards in receipt, of less than £525 per annum. It is ‘estimated that the increase will involve the Government in an extra £1,000.000, an 1 private employers Lu £5,000,000 yearly.
