THE JOCKEYS' DISPUTE
SECESSIONS FROM ASSOCIATION
HR GEO. CLIFFORD APPEALED TO. AMENDMENT To RULES DESIRED. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) CHRISTCIHmr.I!, Thursday. Sir George Clifford, president of I lie New Zealand Racing Conference, lias received a petition, signed by 22 leading .jockeys, stating that they were determined to break away from Hie Association, but (hey asked for an inlerview in order to place before him si,me points on which they wish l<> have amendments to the rules of racing, and alterations in some customs obtaining on some racecourses. Sir Geo. Clifford replied, stating Hint tie would lie pleased lo meet jockeys, and any requests they make -would be placed before the Racing Conference. The President has also received a letter from a .prominent jockey, containing the names of 43 jockeys who have resigned from (he Association. These also ask Sir Geo. Clifford lo receive a deputation.
