THE WHEAT POOL

£BOOO LOSS TO NEW SOUTH WALES. SYDNEY, Jan. 15. The report of the Wheat Inquiry Commission dealing' with the sale of 1915-16 guaranteed wheat stated that through the failure of Hon. W. G. Grahame, Minister for Agriculture when the wheat pool was formed, to protect his own contract with one firm, New South Wales was mulcted in a cR- > -.t. oss of £BOOO. It appeared that Mr Grahame prior to the Tormatioa of me poui, agreed with the firm to sell wheat which it proceeded to do. When the pool was formed this wheat was not exempted from it, and therefore Mr Grahame was unable to fulfil his agreement. The YBOOO referred to represented a portion of the flOTn’s commission.
