Messrs Dalgety and Company, Ltd., report having held their weekly sale of fat stock at Westfield on Wednesday as under:— Beef: A good yarding, a large proportion of which was unfinished. Prime wethers, 33s to 355; good wethers, 28s to 325; ewes, prime, 25s to 28s. Veal: Good yarding. Runners £5 to £6 10s; suckers, £1 10s to £2 10s; young calves, 10s. Pigs: A fair yarding. Baconers, £6 10s to £7 10s; choppers, £6 to £7; porkers, £3 5s to £4 10s; wcaners, £1 ss. Lamb: A full yarding. Prime woolly lambs, 30s to 325, good 23s to 28s, others 8s to 16s. Messrs Alfred Buckland and Sons, report; On Wednesday at our weekly Westfield fat stock market, we sold fat cattle to the number of 503 head, comprising 308 steers, 185 cows and heifers, and 10 bulls. Th e yarding included a big proportion of plain cattle, and prices for these were lower, owing to the freezing company being unable to take stock from to-day’s sale. Choice ox sold to £2 14s per 1001 b, prime £2 10s to £2 12s, ordinary and plain £2 5s to £2 9s; cow and heifer beef. £2 2s to £2 8s; rough beef, £1 16s to £2.
