PRISONERS SENTENCED. At the Supreme Court, Hamilton, today, before , His Honor,. J udge Cooper, Norman S. • Connolly was sentenced tQ two yearys' reformative treatment, and declared an habitual criminal, for forging an order for £6 10s in the name of F. W. Archer, and uttering it to J>\ Vickery, of Hamilton, and also with obtaining" from Vickery a bicycle by false pretences. Prisoner admitted a long list of previous convictions, and that he was at present serving a term of probation. James Graham Hewitt pleaded guilty to forging a cheque in the name of John Hunger, of Morrinsville, and uttering it to Leslie Oswald Kelly of the same place;.further with obtaining credit and money by fraud.from Ernest J.'Joyce, taxi driver, of Hamilton. Prisoner admitted thnt he had been convicted on numerous occasions, and that since 191)7 his career had practically been one of crime. He attributed this to drink, and asked for another chance, promising not to offend again. His Honor said he was compelled to inflict a penalty, and prisoner would be sentenced to ±- months' imprisonment oh each of the charges, the sentences to run concurrently. Prisoner was also declared an habitual criminal.
