PUBLIC OPINION
AN APPEAL. (To the Editor). Sir-—For many years past, the generosity of our country friends has enabled us to bring happiness to many homes iit Christmas, and as the season again approaches; we would ask the farmers and business people to continue their kindly help this year. We have gone through our lists again and again; there still remains 250 homes in need of f<x>d for Christmas, and unless some help is given, their Christmas will bo but a pitiful one. Gifts for funds, potatoes, vegetables, o'" mutton will be thankfully received. Owing to the high cost of living, and the increase in rents, our poor people are having a particularly hard time just now, and we shall be indeed thankful ifyou will assist tis in sending out our Christmas humpers.—l am etc., SISTER ESTHER, Picton Street, Ponsonby, Auckland, December 3, 1019.
