THE SEAMEN’S STRIKE
POSITION LESS SATISFACTORY. (United Press Association.) MELBOURNE, August 11. Conflicting reports regarding the strike negotiations have again dampened the hope of an early settlement. It is officially stated to-daj that despite the optimism of the leaders the n, c n adhered to their determination not to consider the terms of settlement until Walsh is released. On the other hand certain officials of the Seamen’s Union denied that this was the men’s attitude.
