Th e Grand National Steeplechase resulted :—Algeous 10.1 (Baker) 1, Sir Prim 12.4 (Moon) 2. Mountain God 11.4 (Wood) 3. Sixteen acceptors started. Mountain Gold and Tirana mad© the early running, the last-named going to the front to be displaced by Sir Prim, followed by Algeous and Tirana. Sir Prim led into the straight, but Algeous, bv a fast run, won by two lengths, time, 7.433. Jack Rice and Lady Sunderland were killed by foiling. * Gladful, Dorian.' Cuffe, Sir Mnemon also fell. Algoir.s' lime in the Steeplechase was a course record for four miles over 24 hurdles. It clips s:] seconds off the previous best. Poison d'or's time, 1.55;1 in the Balaclava Stakes and Pram's 1.46 J in the Knowsley Steeplechase, were also records* for these events.
