Mr Hugn Burrell, chairman for the federated freezing companies, moved that the Government l>e urged to set up an expert committee of producers familiar with the meat business to proceed to England 'to arrange for the future distribution of meat. Mr Burrell pointed out that 415,000 carcases weer lifted in July, whereas 800,000 might reasonably have been expected to be moved. _ , Mr W. Poison, of Wanganui. a.so addressed the meeting. He expressed grave fears lor the operation of the American meat trust- The solution was to go Home and put the whole question'of the meat business fairly and effectively before the Imperial authorities. A deputation was appointed to proceed to Wellington to bring the matter before th c Government. It ,is considered that the position is likely to to at once serious at the conclusion of the Imperial commandeer.
