MAURITIUS’ POSITION
PETITION TO BRITISH GOVERNMENT FOR RETURN TO FRANCE. (Australian and N.Z. Cable Assn.) Received May 1, 9.5 a.in. L ONDON, April 30. Mr Cecil Harmsworlh, Parliamentary Secretary to tlic Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stated in Hie House of Commons that the Government has received a petition signed by live gentlemen claiming to represent the French population demanding the retrocession of Mauritius to France in accordance with Mr Wilson’s 14 points.
