DRAUGHTS’ CLUB
ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of the Hamilton Draughts Club was hold on Tuesday. The meeting was well attended, and several new members were enrolled. The report, which was adopted, showed that the club had had a most successful and enjoyable season. ■ Besides the usual practices, which for most of the season were well attended; two inter-club matches were played, in both of which the club was successful. Tt had been found that, owing to the increase in members, the present room was too small, and it would bo advisable to find a larger one. The club annrecictod to the full the kindness shown to them by the Library Committee in allowing them the use of the present room free. The committee recommended that during the ensuing season a handicap tournament should he run. The balance-sheet showed, a small credit in hand. The following office-bearers were appointed:—President. Mr VV. Gruar; honorary secretary, Mr L. Brown; committee, Messrs F. Williams, W. Cummings, J. McLean, with the president and secretary. Votes of thanks were passed to the retiring office-bearers and the chairman.
