THE RAILWAYMEN

CONFIDENCE IN THE EXECUTIVE. By Telegraph—Press Association. DUNEDIN, Monday. A largely attended meeting of railway men resolved to accord the executive councillors a hearty vote of thanks for their lucid and straightforward explanations of the proposals submitted by the Minister, and they consider these proposals a distinct advance, and express confidence in the executive council. They recommend the delegate to the forthcoming conference to assist the executive to secure further concessions if possible. Similar meetings at Palmerston and Balclutha expressed approval of the executive council's action.
