THE WEATHER. The following barometer and thermometer readings, taken at 9 a.m. daily, and weather indications, are kindly supplied by Mr James Bremner:— Thermometer. Max. Mm. Saturday , 60 48 Monday 61. 50 Barometer. Monday 30.20 ■ The barometer has risen rapidly, and now registers a record reading of 30.40. The anti-cyclonic conditions experienced during the week were broken by a pocket depression, and rain fell during yesterday. Indications are that the weather will continue fair during the next 48 hours, to bo followed soon by further depressions in the outer circles of the anti-cyclone. Winds in the meantime will be light and variable. The Weather Bureau wires: The indications are for easterly moderate to strong winds. There is a prospect of fine weather.
