MUNICIPAL ELECTIONS
CITIZENS’ ASSOCIATION’S CANDIDATES. The following candidates have been ihosen by the Hamilton Citizens’ Assosiation to contest the forthcoming municipal elections: — Wm. Bourne, A. Dunne and F. J. Fairburn, representing Hamilton East. J. Gilbert and D. J. Murphy, Glaudelands. S. Hawkins and T. Moffatt, Hamilton West. J. Sykes and W. Waters, Hamilton Central.
FRANKTON CANDIDATES. A large and representative meetingof businessmen and ratepayers of Frankton considered the question of the forthcoming municipal elections in. Hamilton, when it was resolved to support the sitting candidates —viz., Messrs J. Fraser Smith, T. F. Jolly, J. E. Herbert and W. A. Gosling. The two latter intimated to the meeting that they would not be seeking re-election, and it was resolved to put forward. Mr J. Prenton, with Messrs Smith and Jolly, so that three candidates will be supported by the burgesses in that area. The meeting was a very enthusiastic one, and pledged itself to do all in its power to further the interests of the candidates named, with the object of their return on polling day.
