iIIORnjIMSVHXE. ji Farmers’ Union. The monthly meeting of the Morrinsville branch of the Farmers’ Union was held last week, the president, Mr. AV. McLachlan, being in the chair. The scheme put forward by J.' Boddic, provincial president for the re-organisation of the union in Auckland was read, and after some discussion a motion was passed supporting any scheme that will increase the membership. The report 6f the provincial organiser was read, and a motion carried thanking ttic organiser for the trouble lie had taken through the year to improve the union. Pastimes. •The following arc the results of the Croquet championship matches played this week: A grade: Mrs. Hickey beat Mrs. Marshall, Mrs. Clifford beat Mrs. Layne, Mrs. Philpolt beat Mrs. Jeliyman, Airs. Thynnc beat Airs. Alarshall, Airs. Philpott beat Airs AlcLeod.B grade; Mrs Empson beat Airs. Thynne, Mrs. Butler beat Airs. Ramsey, Airs. Howie beat Airs. Birns, Airs. Butler beat Mrs. Empson. In the Wednesday Star matches Afesdames Clifford and Ramsey beat AJesdames Hill and Parlour, Mesdames Philpott and Butler boat Alesdames Layne and Howie. Airs. Butler’s trophy, 3rd round, Airs. Hickey beat Airs. Layne.
