SOLDIERS COMING HOME
ARRIVAL OF THE AJANA. SOLDIER LOST OVERBOARD. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) AUCKLAND, Thursday. The Ajana, with a draft of 890 returned soldiers, disembarked. TEN TRANSPORTS DUE IN APRIL. BRINGING 9038 MEN. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Thursday. It is announced that ten liners will arrive in New Zealand during the month of April, bringing back 90118 soldiers. This is in pursuance of the policy announced some time ago to bring back the men at the rate, of 10,000 a month. It is hoped to continue the April rate, though the shipping position makes “this doubtful. The lonic, Remuera and Tainui arc due to arrive on the 26th, 27th, and 28th April, and have on board 979,; 750, and 557 troops respectively. Particulars of the vessels due earlier have already been announced.
