POLITICAL MATTERS
THE NEW PARTIES. (Special to Times.) WELLINGTON, Tuesday. The Welfare League and the Now Political party are both busy, each in its own way, explaining that they have no connection with one another. The that while the Welfare League would difference between them seems to he make a drastic revision of the personnel of the present Parliament, the New Political Parly would leave the rank and tile alone and provide them with new leaders. Both organisations arc suffering severely from their aversion to publicity. The Welfare League, in rather ambiguous terms, has declared its attachment to certain high ideals, mainly the common properly of all parlies, and Uic New Political Party lias confined itself, so far, to conjure with names. Neither lias yet taken the public into its confidence, and both are hazarding the cheap jests that have brought about the downfall of many a similar enterprise.
