The date for fixing the signatures to the preliminary peace treaties depends on the completion of the reports of the Economic Council’s financial experts, who are endeavouring to find a solution by which Germany can pay the indemnity with the least injury to the industries of the Allies. It is known that certain members of the Conference desire the raising of the blockade ..against Germany, hut the weight of the Conference is against this, realising that the whole question of indemnities and method of payment must be first determined. LABOUR AND CRIMES COMMISSIONS DRAFTING THEIR FINAL REPORTS. (Australian and N.Z. Cable Assn.) Received March 26, 12.5 a.m. , ' . . ' PARIS, March 25. The Labour and Crimes Commissions have now completed their investigations and are engaged in drafting their final reports. Like the Polish Commission’s report, each of these reports will be subject to a vigorous dissection by the Council of Ten, and much time is likely to elapse beforefinality- is reached. Definite peace proposals have now been formulated and will be considered in .the -next two or three days by M. Glemenceau, Mr Wilson, Mr Lloyd George .and Signor Orlando, and will probably Ixe ready for signature next week. THE GERMAN CABLES. - NOT PRIZES OP WAR. (Australian and N.Z. Cable Assn.) Received March 26, 11.45 a.m. PARIS, March 25. The United States’ view that the German cables are not prizes of war is upheld by the Supreme Council Committee. ITALY AND FIUME. It is officially denied that Italy threatened to withdraw from the Conference if Flume were not granted to her. POLISH REPORT ADOPTED. DANTZIG FOR POLAND. (Australian and N.Z. Gable Assn.) Received' Ivfairch 2’6, 12.5 p.m., ■*A PARIS, March 25. It is understood that the Council of Ten has accepted the Polish Commission’s report entirely, thus recognising Dantzig as a Polish port.
