N.Z. MILITARY FORCES
The following promotions have been approved:— 4th (Waikato) Mounted Rifles: Second-lieutenant F. E. Spain to !>p liiautenant; Sergt. J. Young, "C" Squadron, to be Squadron-Sergeant-Ma-jwr; Privates L. Nlltt ("A" Squadren) li. Hk-chcoek ("('" Squad. on, (i. Yeoman ("E" Squadron), to bo Lanco-Coi porals. Sergt. .1. C. Corl>oy, "C" Squadron, having Ihm'u discharged from tho N.Z.E.F., lias reported for duty. Auckland Mounted Signal Troop: Lieut. Ralph Hanstead has been promoted to the rank of Cantain.
16th (Waikato) Regiment: Lieut. A. li. Collier has been appointed Adjutant to the Regiment. Senior Cadets: Lieut. M. R. Downey is transferred from the 4th Eden Co. to the 74th Ngaruawahia C*. :('adet .1. Catlicart, 74th Ngaruawahia Co., is promoted to La nee-Corporal; Cadets A. Humphries, H. \Y. Carter, S. Norman and .J. S. Lyford, 82nd Otoro hanga Co., are promoted to Lance. Corporals. COURSES OF INSTRUCTION.
A 14 days' course of instruction will Ih> held at Narrow Neck Military Camp next January for officers and X.C.O.'s. of the Territorials and Senior Cadets. The course will be held in two periods, firstly, from January 4th to .lanuary TBth, and, secondly, from January ISth to February Ist. In the case of those who cannot , attend for 14 days they will be allowed to attend for shorter period* of ten and six days. A special six daws' course will be hold for officers and N.C.O's. of Secondary School Cadet Companies throughout the month of January, and they may enter camp on anv one of the following dates. January ith, 11th, 18th or 25th. ' ' '
