FLANDERS BATTLE
VOORTEZEELE LOST AND RETAKEN. (Australian and N.Z. and Reuter.) Received April 29, 8.55 a.m. LONDON, April 28. Sir Douglas Haig reports that tlie enemy captured Yoortezeele last night, but a counter-attack early in the night drove" him out. The enemy re-attacked later in the same locality. There was local fighting all night on both sides of the Ypres-Comines Canal. We raided southward of Gastrelle and in the and Hii 1 70 sectors. We repulsed an attempted raid northward of Bailleul. There is reciprocal artillery activity on the battle front.
